I cannot believe how big this spindle is yet how light it feels while it flies! This is my new Jenkins Phoenix. It weighs in at 34.48g and is made out of Juniper. #handspunstagram #spinstagram #igspinners #spinnersofinstagram #handspun #handspunyarn #fiberfeature #wemakeyarn #jenkinsturkishspindle #turkishspindle

Ed Jenkins’s smallest and largest style of Turkish Spindle. Smallest shown here is my Bee Hummingbird made of Beeswing Narra weighing only 3.28g and largest shown is the Phoenix made of Juniper weighing in at 34.48g. My Phoenix is I think the lightest one so far. The average weight of the Phoenix style is mid 40s and the range is mid 30s-low 50 grams. #handspunstagram #spinstagram #igspinners #spinnersofinstagram #handspun #handspunyarn #fiberfeature #wemakeyarn #jenkinsturkishspindle #turkishspindle

On Friday a wonderful new Jenkins Turkish Spindle flew into my flock. Ed created another incredible style to add to his wonderful line up of Turkish Spindles. The largest spindle shown the Phoenix is what arrived. It is Ed’s largest spindle, modeled after the Egret but with a wider wingspan which can allow for even more plying capacity. I’m not a spindle plyer however I loved the Egret for fine spinning and had a strong feeling I’d love the Phoenix for fine spinning as well. Other Jenkins depicted are the Swan(heaviest style), Egret(former widest wingspan), and Bee Hummingbird(smallest). #handspunstagram #spinstagram #igspinners #spinnersofinstagram #handspun #handspunyarn #fiberfeature #wemakeyarn #jenkinsturkishspindle #turkishspindle
