All of my spindle spins are wheel plied. I love the ability to ply a whole project as one skein rather than several smaller ones. This means I can use up as much of the yarn as possible when using it for a knitting project. My Big 18 Jenkins Flock Spin was chain plied starting with the inside of the Swan’s turtle and then continued on in the same order I spun them to preserve the color changes. In the past I exclusively chain plied on my Aura but have gotten used to the technique on my Starlings which gives a major boost to portability even during plying which is a huge plus! You can see here the remnants of one of my turtles... no worries all turtles behaved and no singles were lost! I know a lot of folks worry about plying directly from the turtles but with practice and experience it becomes much easier and of course saves time which is something I feel is so important. #handspunstagram #spinstagram #igspinners #spinnersofinstagram #handspun #handspunyarn #fiberfeature #wemakeyarn #jenkinsturkishspindle #twfjan20 #Big18JenkinsSpin #threewatersfarm #fiberyfun365 #spin15aday #starlingspinner #daedalusspinningwheels #starlingxl
