Late last night I decided to attempt to braid the Huacatinco Wantanas into my hair. I'm not sure how it's done traditionally so I took my best guess on how to make it work. I used a lark head knot to secure the center of the band to the start of the braid. I love the way the bands pop in and out of the braid and the white beads are a lot of fun. I want to learn how to make this style of band so that I can make some longer ones that will be a more appropriate length for my hair. I'll need to make them about 2 feet longer than the shorter one of the two. When longer I'll be able to tie the bottom to secure the braids rather than using an elastic tie. Close up photos of these bands are found in the previous post. Huacatinco Wantans purchased through @abbysyarns.
