I've been pretty busy lately working on projects with @daedalusspinningwheels so I haven't been working on my projects as much as of late. However, I have been taking a little time for myself to play with this wonderful little spinning project here and there on my Peruvian pushkas. I'm spinning khaitu which is Andean weaving yarn with the goal of weaving my own beaded bands like this one that is overlapping my spindles. I ordered some beads from @artbeads. I have a feeling I'm going to love the process of making these and using them so I can only imagine I'll be getting more beads in the future. The bag these spindles are sitting on is a spindle bag that is able to hold all four of these spindles. Both the bag and textile were spindle spun and woven on backstrap. Background textile was woven by Urbana Turpo Ccori of Sallac and the spindle bag was woven by Susana Inquillay Apaza from Sallac. Purchased through @centro_textiles_cusco and @abbysyarns. #abbysyarns #franquemontuniversity #peruvianspindle #pushka #chacchac #chajchaj #khaitu #andeanweaving #andeanbackstrap #backstrapweaving #weaving #weaversofig #handweaversofinstagram #handwoventextiles #weaversgonnaweave #seedbeads #artbeads
