I started up a small project to create khaitu(Andean weaving yarn) on my lighter Peruvian spindles I got from @abbysyarns. This fiber is originally something I ordered from @weavingworks for a different project but I've got plenty to spare some for weaving. This project is something I'll work on a few minutes here and there to learn how to use these spindles and to hopefully have khaitu that will lend itself well to creating these beaded bands that I'll be braiding into my hair. To see a closer look at these bands check out my prior posts. I picked out a few different seed beads to try working with through @artbeads. Background textile woven by Urbana Turpo Ccori of Sallac and the spindle bag was woven by Susana Inquillay Apaza from Sallac. Purchased through @centro_textiles_cusco and @abbysyarns. #abbysyarns #franquemontuniversity #andeanweaving #khaitu #spintoweave #andeanbackstrap #backstrapweaving #weaversofinstagram #handweaving #weavingyarns #igweavers #handwoventextiles #weaversgonnaweave
