I'm getting ready to ply two of the cotton bumps I got from @ashenflock @longdrawjames. I was so excited about the first dyed bump of cotton that I forgot to split the bump in half and spun the whole bump on one bobbin. I backed the @dreaming_robots EEW Yarn Counter and thought this would be a perfect way to test it out. I weighed an empty bobbin rewound the bobbin while using the Sparrow in Irish Tension and used yarn counter to determine both the overall weight of the single and estimated yardage. I then rewound the bobbin again and used the yarn counter estimate for half the yardage and kept in mind also the weight to hopefully get half of the single onto a second bobbin. I'll now be plying it on the Falcon and we'll see how well the bobbins match up. #spinningcotton #cottonspinning #longdrawjames #acalacotton #easytospincotton #ashenflock #igspinners #handspunyarn #handspinning #yarnspinners #spinnersofinstagram #handspinnersofig #yarnspinnersofinstagram #daedalusspinningwheels #daedalussparrow #eewyarncounter #electricspinningwheel
