Oh my goodness it’s almost ready!!!! I’m waiting on the epoxied parts to fully cure before I take my Starling Mini for its first test spin. I’ve already verified all of the soldering work Linhart did is all in proper order. Switches are doing what they should and the motor sounds so quiet! I better get ready for guild tomorrow!

For today’s adventures with building my own Starling I’ll be tackling sanding some parts and cleanup on the flyer. When Linhart gets home we’ll work on the electronics together and then I can take it for a spin. Thanks so much @daedalusspinningwheels it’s been an amazing experience building this spinner. . SQUEE!!!! I cannot put into words how excited I am about this. I've been talking extensively with Dave of @daedalusspinningwheels over the past week. Last Tuesday he let me in on his new secret project that was just announced yesterday the Starling Mini and Starling XL. He wanted to have me demo one but with how long they take to print up and prepping for the big launch he wasn't going to have the time to print one for me so instead he was so kind to let me print my own! Now it was quite the task so this is definitely a one-off experience as there were difficulties even for myself with all of my 3d printing experience. I've been pretty much working on this project every day since last Friday. Dave sent me all the non 3d printed parts and I'll be assembling this beauty myself with a little aid from Linhart. It's insane just how many parts go into the assembly of this machine. The design is extremely well thought out and it was a blast being able to print everything myself. I will now start my adventure of assembling my Starling Mini and looking forward to taking it on its first spin! For those who are interested in buying one of these beauties have no fear, they come fully assembled so this is just a one-off experience. 😊

Just finished processing my fiber for my #5shawls5days challenge. I was originally going to hand card the samples that needed blended(the bottom 3) but remembered I don’t really like hand cards so onto the drum carder they went for a much easier experience and a million times better looking result. Finished the first of five braids for my Jenkins Turkish Horn spin. I don't normally spin solids or semi solids on my Turkish spindles but I absolutely love how beautifully these colors pair up with the coloration of the horn. It has been an absolute joy hearing from so many of you that I’ve inspired you to pick up your Turkish Spindle and even some of you who have added your very first one or even two to your spindle flock! It’s inspiration like this that is the reason why I got my first Turkish back in 2011. I saw this amazing photo of a beautiful Turkish Delight wrapped gorgeously and was immediately drawn in. I had to know everything about this spindle and where to get one. I’m so glad I did because I had stopped spindle spinning after I got my first wheel and it was that moment that changed my spindle spinning experience sending me down the rabbit hole. This is the last of the fiber for this project. About one more ounce to go and then I'll get to ply it all up! Still haven't decided how I want to ply it.
