Sample comparison between woolen long draw with rolags vs short forward draw with roving of the same 60/40 Merino/Alpaca blend. They are both airy and squishy with the rolag yarn being more so as well as more rustic looking. The roving sample spin is definitely leaning more Semi Worsted than Woolen. This gorgeous beauty arrived last Friday. Ed's spindles never cease to amaze me. The wood is Spalted Hawthorne which I don't think I've seen before. The contrast between the patterning in the wood along with the dark Spalted lines is incredible. To top it off is a special Tour de Fleece Turtle which has only been used for the spindles Ed created specifically for the giveaway during TdF this year.
