Yesterday and today's progress on my first handspun warp. I've got about 9 inches done so far. I had a catastrophic failure earlier that involved my sonqopa shed inadvertently winding up on the opposite yarns and then it became quite the mess so I got to learn how to create a new sonqopa when that shed has been lost. It wasn't too bad though the fineness of the yarn did add to the challenge. Overall I'm quite pleased with how this is turning out and love the way the silk weft pops on the sides. Background textiles. The Blue/Green woven textile was made by Christina Ylla Ccallisea of Chahuaytire. Purchased through @centro_textiles_cusco. #abbysyarns #franquemontuniversity #andeanweaving #andeanbackstrap #weaversofinstagram #handweaving #weavingyarns #igweavers #handwoven #weaversgonnaweave #spintoweave #weavingwithhandspun #spindlespun #spindleplying #igspinnersinspiration #spinningyarn #spinnersofinstagram #handspinnersofig
